Claude Opus 4.8 arrives as Claude Code gains dynamic multi-agent workflows
Claude Opus 4.8 launched at the same $5/$25 per million token price as Opus 4.7, with Anthropic reporting it is about four times less likely to miss code flaws. Alongside it, Claude Code gained dynamic workflows that can coordinate hundreds of parallel subagents, and the Messages API began accepting system entries inside the messages array. For engineering teams, this enabled large codebase-wide migrations and mid-task instruction changes in agent harnesses.
