Claude Sonnet 4.5 tops coding benchmarks as the Claude Agent SDK debuts
Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 4.5, reporting state-of-the-art results on SWE-bench Verified and on computer-use benchmarks at the same price as Sonnet 4. It also renamed the Claude Code SDK to the Claude Agent SDK and added checkpoints and a native VS Code extension to Claude Code. For practitioners, it provided a stronger default coding model and the same agent harness Anthropic uses internally for building custom agents.
