GPT-5.2 lands in Instant, Thinking and Pro variants aimed at professional work
OpenAI launched GPT-5.2 in three variants, Instant, Thinking and Pro, positioned for professional knowledge work, coding and long-context analysis. It reported gains on SWE-Bench Pro and fewer hallucinations than GPT-5.1, with API pricing of $1.75 per million input tokens and $14 per million output tokens for the standard model. For practitioners, it raised capability and price relative to GPT-5.1, so upgrades were worth benchmarking per workload.
